Ember One

Ember One is an open-source Bitcoin mining hashboard project maintained by The 256 Foundation. The Ember One 00 design uses Bitmain BM1362 ASICs, communicates over USB-C. A separate compatible control board is required. Confirm the included components before ordering.

    Description

Ember One is an open-source Bitcoin mining hashboard project maintained by The 256 Foundation. The Ember One 00 design uses Bitmain BM1362 ASICs, a standardized board layout, USB-C data communication, and onboard temperature sensors.

Important: The project describes Ember One as a hashboard that requires a separate USB-connected control board. Confirm the exact hardware, cooling, power supply, controller, and firmware included with your configuration before ordering.

    Ember One 00 Technical Specifications

    Specification Project information
Project Ember One, maintained by The 256 Foundation
    Hardware Open-source Bitcoin mining hashboard
Ember One 00 ASIC Bitmain BM1362
Approximate power ~100 W; operating conditions affect actual power
Input voltage Revision-dependent; the project specifies 12–16 V DC for v6.1. Verify your exact board before connecting power.
    Data connection USB-C
    Temperature monitoring Onboard temperature sensors
    Board dimensions 125 × 125 mm
Controller Separate USB-connected control board required
Warranty Solo Satoshi provides a 6-month limited warranty from delivery and handles repairs and claims.

Specifications above describe the Ember One 00 project. The project lists 3.6 TH/s as theoretical for v6.1 and says it has not yet been verified on that revision. Actual performance and power depend on the hardware and operating configuration.

    How Ember One Works

Unlike a self-contained desktop miner, Ember One is a hashboard intended to operate with a separate controller, appropriate cooling, a compatible DC power supply, and supporting mining software. The project describes USB communication between its hashboard and controller and a standardized form factor intended to support different designs over time.

Ember One 00 uses BM1362 chips. The project describes other ASIC designs as future roadmap items; their availability and support should be verified with the project before planning a build.

    Power, Cooling, and Firmware

Choose a regulated DC supply compatible with the board, connectors, and complete system load. A board power figure is not the same as total wall power: the controller, cooling equipment, and power-supply losses can increase system consumption.

Provide suitable heatsink contact and airflow before applying power. The Ember One project publishes board-management firmware and links to initial mining software work. Check the current project documentation for controller and firmware compatibility; the Ember One hashboard should not be assumed to use Bitaxe AxeOS or the Solo Satoshi Web Flasher.
