Description
The El Mirage heatsink is a fully copper-plated aftermarket heatsink for all single-chip Bitaxe and Nerdaxe Gamma miners, with a four-point M3 screw mount that locks the base flush against the BM1370 ASIC. It’s a great replacement for most stock two-pin heatsinks that ships on some Bitaxe boards and eliminates the contact tilt that throttles your hashrate.

El Mirage Performance Benchmarks
Bench data on a Bitaxe Gamma 602 with the El Mirage installed shows the BM1370 holding 60°C from 625 MHz through 900 MHz. The voltage regulator becomes the thermal limit before the ASIC does, which is the inverse of stock heatsink behavior where the ASIC throttles first.

El Mirage Installation
- Power down/unplug your miner.
- Remove the stock heatsink and fasteners/clips.
- Clean the ASIC surface with 99% isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
- Apply a pea-sized drop of thermal paste to the center of the ASIC.
- Align the El Mirage with the four PCB mount holes and lower it onto the chip.
- Install the four M3 screws and locking nuts.
- Tighten in a diagonal pattern (top-left, bottom-right, top-right, bottom-left) for even pressure.
- Install the fan holder, fan, & connect the fan back.
- Power on, and verify ASIC temperatures on your miner’s dashboard.
