Description
The Bitaxe Gamma Hex 1300 is a hydro-cooled, open-source Bitcoin miner built with six Bitmain BM1370 ASIC chips. At stock settings it delivers approximately 8.4 TH/s at 140W, or about 16.7 J/TH. Individual results vary, and stable overclocked performance can exceed 11 TH/s with appropriate power, settings, and temperature monitoring.
An all-in-one liquid cooler transfers heat through a pure copper micro-fin cold plate and radiator. The miner runs ESP-Miner firmware with the AxeOS browser dashboard, the open-source software used across supported Bitaxe hardware.

What Makes the Bitaxe Gamma Hex Different?
The Bitaxe Gamma Hex is the first Bitaxe to combine six ASICs with liquid cooling.
- Six BM1370 ASICs: The same Bitmain S21 Pro-class silicon scaled to six chips on one board.
- 300W Pure Copper Micro-Fin Cold Plate: The AIO hydro cooler’s cold plate is rated for 300W of thermal load, more than double the Bitaxe Gamma Hex’s 140W default draw. That headroom is what makes heavy overclocking possible.
- Near-Silent Operation: Liquid cooling removes the need for high-RPM axial fans. At stock settings, the liquid-cooling system is designed for low-noise operation in home or office environments.
- RGB Hydro Fan: The radiator fan features integrated RGB LED lighting effects, matching the cold plate’s LED accents. The RGB lighting is always on while the miner is powered: there is no remote, switch, or software toggle to turn it off.

How to Overclock Your Bitaxe Gamma Hex
- Access the AxeOS dashboard from your browser.
- Navigate to the “Settings” tab.
- Scroll down to “Mining Settings”.
- Adjust “Frequency” and “Core Voltage” one tier at a time. Allow ASIC and coolant temperatures to stabilize before increasing further.
- Hit Save, then restart.
- Monitor temperatures on the dashboard. The 300W cold plate provides substantial thermal headroom, but the power supply is the practical limit.
PSU note: When selected, the optional Mean Well GST280A12-C6P is rated for 252W of continuous output, meaning the adapter can sustain full load indefinitely under normal operating conditions. That leaves roughly 112W of headroom above the 140W default draw, so overclocking toward 11 TH/s stays within the power supply’s continuous rating.

How to Set Up Your Bitaxe Gamma Hex
Setting up the Bitaxe Gamma Hex takes about 5 minutes:
- Step 1: Power On and Connect. Connect a compatible 12V power supply to the 6-pin power input, then connect AC power. The miner broadcasts a Wi-Fi hotspot. Connect from your phone or computer.
- Step 2: Configure Wi-Fi. Enter your home network credentials through the AxeOS web interface.
- Step 3: Enter Your Bitcoin Address. Input any on-chain BTC wallet address. A SegWit address starting with bc1q works best.
- Step 4: Select Your Pool. Choose solo mining via Public Pool or Solo CKPool, or connect to a payout pool like Ocean Mining or Braiins.
- Step 5: Start Mining. Save settings. Your Bitaxe Gamma Hex is now hashing at 8.4 TH/s, near silently.
