Description

The Thermalright AXP90-X47 Full Copper is a 145W TDP low-profile heatsink and 92mm PWM fan combo built for sustained overclocked mining and computation loads. Four 6mm copper heat pipes pull heat off the ASIC/processor into a stack of 54 solid copper fins, all C1100 pure copper and nickel-plated to resist oxidation. With compatible miners drawing anywhere from 75 to 120 watts depending on chip configuration, the AXP90-X47’s 145W TDP rating leaves substantial thermal headroom, which translates to lower ASIC/processor junction temperatures and stable clocks under load.

Unlike hybrid heatsinks that bond a copper base to aluminum fins, the AXP90-X47 Full Copper keeps the entire thermal path in copper. Pure copper conducts heat at approximately 400 W/m·K versus aluminum at 237 W/m·K, eliminating the dissimilar-metal bottleneck where most coolers lose efficiency. The 520-gram assembly mass also acts as a thermal buffer during share submission spikes.

The AXP90-X47 Full Copper drops onto every home mining board that uses the standard 92mm heatsink footprint. Compatibility confirmed for:

The 94.5 × 95mm footprint matches the standard chip layout used across these boards. Mounting uses the included backplate fastener system. Thermal paste is required for installation. Solo Satoshi recommends a high-conductivity compound such as Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut for optimal heat transfer.

Installation

The AXP90-X47 Full Copper ships with both Intel and AMD CPU mounting brackets. For NerdQaxe, NerdOctaxe, and Hammer Miner boards, the included AM4/AM5 back-plate is not needed.

1. Power down and unplug the miner. Allow 5 minutes for the board to cool completely.
2. Remove the existing heatsink by loosening the four spring-mounted screws or threaded posts.
3. Clean the ASIC top surface with 99% isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth.
4. Apply a pea-sized drop of thermal paste to the center of the ASIC die.
5. Place the heatsink onto the ASIC and tighten the four mounting screws in a diagonal pattern (X pattern), turning each screw a quarter-turn at a time until snug.
6. Connect the 4-pin PWM fan cable to the fan header on the miner board.
7. Power on, monitor temperatures through the web dashboard for 15 minutes before applying any overclock settings.
