Intro
Overclocking the NerdQaxe++ is where the fun begins. This guide from Solo Satoshi shows you how to safely push your NerdQaxe++ bitcoin solo miner beyond stock settings while keeping stability, temps, and efficiency in check. We walk step by step through preparation, voltage and frequency tuning, and real-world validation so your tweaks translate into sustained hashrate on the Bitcoin network.
Important Safety Notes
This guide applies only to NerdQaxe++ Revision 6 units and beyond, which do not have a fuse on the PCB of the device. If you are not sure which revision you own, stop and confirm with your seller or original retailer before changing any settings. Overclocking carries real risk including instability, accelerated component wear, and possible warranty limitations. Proceed only if you understand these tradeoffs and have adequate cooling and a known good power supply. See what sets our Rev6 units apart from the competition.
Please note:
- Overclocking may void your warranty.
- Overclocking will increase the power consumption of your device.
- Overclocking will increase the heat your device puts out.
- Overclocking May exceed the wattage rating of your stock power supply. You should never under any circumstances exceed 80% of your power supplies nameplate continuous rating.
Before attempting to overclock, be sure your device is in a well-ventilated area away from all flammable materials. Please overclock your NerdQaxe++ responsibly.
Starting to Overclock:
Step 1. Get your NerdQaxe++ Set Up
Before changing any settings to overclock your NerdQaxe++, the device must be set up on your Wi-Fi network and mining at stock settings. If you have not done the initial setup, click here to see how to setup your NerdQaxe++ in just 5 minutes.
Step 2. Open AxeOS from the device’s IP address
Your NerdQaxe++ shows its IP address on the screen once it is connected to your network. Make sure your phone or computer is on the same Wi-Fi.
- Type the IP directly into your browser address bar.
Step 3. Navigate to Settings in AxeOS
From the AxeOS dashboard, click Settings on the left side menu. This is your control room for everything you will tune later.
Step 4. Find Mining Settings Panel
Inside of AxeOS Settings, scroll down until you see the Mining Settings section
- Near the top right will find a faded square button.
- Select it.
- Now you can manually type in numbers higher than what you see on the default drop downs.
Step 5. Bump frequency first, then add a small voltage assist only if needed
You are now in the overclocking stage.
-
Raise frequency in 25 to 50 MHz increments.
-
Press Save at the bottom of the settings page.
-
Let the miner run for a few minutes. *This process is lengthy due to how long the NerdQaxe++ takes to ramp up.
-
Watch the miner’s hashrate and temperature on the dashboard for stability.
-
Repeat the pattern. Small frequency steps, Save, and observe. Only add voltage when frequency alone is not stable and temperatures are under control.
Additional Information: Fan Controller
1. Fan Mode
- For overclocking the NerdQaxe++, it is recommended to set fan mode to manual mode.
2. Fan Speed
- For overclocking, it is recommended to set fan speed to 100% until you find settings and temperatures you are okay with.
3. Shutdown Temperature
- Shut down temperature will monitor your voltage regulator and ASIC temperatures. Do move shutdown temperature past 75C.
- If you’re device is exceeding 75C you may be overclocking too much, or your current ambient temperature may be too warm.

Closing Summary
You made it. Your NerdQaxe++ Rev6 is tuned, stable, and ready to run. Keep an eye on temps, power, and logs. Always favor small, deliberate adjustments over big jumps. If anything looks off, roll back to your last known good profile and take a breather. Overclocking is a marathon, not a sprint.
