Description
These black 3D printed feet are built specifically for the Canaan Avalon Q, and they give you two ways to run it. Stand the Q vertically so the exhaust blows up toward the ceiling for heat reuse, or set it horizontally and lift it off the floor for stability and better airflow. One set of feet covers both setups.
The Avalon Q ships as a 455 x 130 x 440mm unit weighing about 10.5 kg (23 lb), per Canaan’s published specifications. That tall, narrow chassis is steady on a desk but can tip when bumped on carpet or in a busy workshop. These wedge feet widen the base, lower the center of gravity, and open an air gap so the miner breathes cleaner.
Key Features
- Two orientations, one set. Vertical for ceiling-directed exhaust heat, or horizontal to lift the miner off the ground.
- Tip-resistant stability. Wide wedge stance steadies the Avalon Q’s narrow 130mm chassis on desks, shelves, and workshop floors.
- Open airflow and less dust. Raised clearance keeps the intake breathing clean air and reduces floor-dust recirculation.
- Open truss construction. Triangular cutouts cut weight and material while keeping the feet rigid.
- No tools, no hardware. Seat the miner on the feet and you are running in seconds.
- Black PLA build. Lightweight and rigid. The feet sit at the cool base end in both orientations, away from the exhaust.
Two Ways to Run Your Avalon Q
Vertical, exhaust up. Stand the Avalon Q on the feet with the exhaust pointing toward the ceiling. Hot air rises naturally into the room instead of pooling against a wall or surface, which makes the Q a more effective hashrate heater during cold months. No ducting or extra hardware required.
Horizontal, lifted off the ground. Lay the Q flat on the feet to raise it off the floor. This keeps the intake clear of dust, improves passive cooling through added clearance, and protects the chassis from spills and debris in a garage or basement.
“Most stands on the market only solve one problem,” says Hunter Canterbury, co-founder of Solo Satoshi. “We run Avalon Q units at home, and customers want both. Some want exhaust pushed up to heat a room, others just want a 23 pound tower that will not tip. These feet do both, so you are not buying twice.”
What’s Included
- 2x Black 3D printed Avalon Q foot (front & back)
Not included: the Canaan Avalon Q miner, power supply, or cables.
Setup Instructions
For vertical exhaust heat reuse:
- Place both feet on a flat, level surface, spaced to the Avalon Q base.
- Stand the Q upright on the feet with the exhaust end pointing up.
- Confirm it is level and stable, leave clearance above the exhaust, then power on.
- Set both feet flat with enough spacing to support the length of the chassis.
- Lay the Avalon Q across the feet so it sits raised off the surface.
- Check stability and keep the exhaust end unobstructed before powering on.
For horizontal lift:
