Description
The Passport Prime HODL Package combines Foundation Passport Prime with a three-plate fireproof stainless-steel recovery backup, physical entropy dice, engraving tools, and serialized tamper-evident storage. It is a single-signer package for creating, verifying, backing up, and testing one Bitcoin wallet recovery path.
Passport Prime is an open-source hardware device with a touchscreen, camera, secure element, active tamper response, and support for Bitcoin signing workflows. Included retail-box accessories remain those supplied by Foundation.

Passport Prime Role
- Create or restore a Bitcoin wallet and review transaction details on its own display.
- Exchange supported transaction data through camera-based or compatible wired workflows.
- Use the wallet seed and optional BIP39 passphrase to derive the signing keys.
- Verify recovery and receiving addresses before meaningful funds are deposited.
Using the D16/D16/D8 Dice
Assign the two d16 dice as D1 and D2 and keep that order consistent; the d8 is D3. One ordered throw has 16 x 16 x 8 = 2,048 possible outcomes, matching the BIP39 English word list.
- Use 11 ordered throws for the first 11 words of a 12-word phrase, or 23 throws for the first 23 words of a 24-word phrase.
- Use a compatible offline signer to add the remaining 7 or 3 entropy bits.
- Let the signer calculate the checksum-bearing final word.
- Verify the full phrase and perform a recovery test.
The method does not use 64 d16 rolls, and the d8 is not an independent cross-check. All three dice form one ordered 2,048-outcome lookup.
Backup and Storage Plan
- Engrave and verify each fireproof stainless-steel copy before removing temporary notes.
- Store the three copies in separate secure locations away from Passport Prime.
- If using a BIP39 passphrase, back it up separately and test recovery with it.
- Record the tamper-evident bag serial numbers and inspect the seals periodically.
- Never photograph or enter the recovery phrase into an internet-connected device.
Warranty
Passport Prime is covered by Foundation’s one-year limited hardware warranty. The remaining package components follow their applicable manufacturer or Solo Satoshi warranty terms.
