    Description

The Multi-Signature Package combines a Start9 Server One with three signing devices from three manufacturers for a 2-of-3 Bitcoin multisignature wallet. Two devices must approve a spend, so one unavailable signer does not prevent recovery. Each signer must be initialized with its own independent seed.

The node verifies Bitcoin data and can provide a private backend for compatible coordinator software. A coordinator such as Sparrow, Nunchuk, or Specter is downloaded separately and is used to assemble transactions and manage the wallet policy. The coordinator does not replace the signing devices.

    How the 2-of-3 Wallet Works

    1. Create a different seed for Jade Plus, SeedSigner+, and Passport Prime. Never reuse one seed across the three signers.
    2. Export each signer’s wallet key record into compatible coordinator software and create a 2-of-3 policy.
    3. Register the completed multisig policy on each device and verify receiving addresses on-device.
    4. Back up all three seeds separately. Do not store a signer with its matching seed backup.
    5. Export the wallet descriptor or policy file to more than one medium and store it separately from the seed backups.
    6. Test a receive, a two-device signature, a broadcast, and recovery before depositing a meaningful balance.

Multisig reduces dependence on any one key or device, but it adds operational responsibility. The wallet descriptor records how the keys form the wallet. Seed words alone may not reproduce the same policy without the descriptor, key order, derivation paths, and quorum details.

    Signer and Node Roles

    Included item Quantity and role
Start9 Server One Runs StartOS and a Bitcoin node. It verifies chain data and can serve compatible wallet software; it does not store the three signing keys.
Jade Plus One independent key with QR or JadeLink transaction transport and multisig address verification after policy registration.
SeedSigner+ One stateless key loaded from its independent seed or SeedQR for each signing session. Nothing persists after normal power-off.
Passport Prime One independent key with an on-device display and camera-based transaction workflow.
Coordinator software Creates the policy, receive addresses, and PSBTs; collects two signatures; and broadcasts through the chosen node connection. Not included as physical media.

    Physical Entropy Options

The ten d6 dice support SeedSigner’s documented dice-entry workflow: record exactly 50 individual results for a 12-word seed or 99 for a 24-word seed. Rolling ten dice at once is acceptable only when every die is read in a fixed order and the exact target count is recorded. Do not round 99 results up to an untracked tenth batch.

The two d16 dice and one d8 die support the published D16/D16/D8 lookup method. Use 11 ordered throws for the first 11 words or 23 for the first 23 words, then use a compatible offline signer to add the remaining entropy and calculate the checksum-bearing final word. These are alternative seed-generation methods, not cross-checks of one another.

    Backup and Storage Checklist

    • Keep the three seed backups in separate locations and label them without exposing seed words.
    • Keep multiple verified copies of the wallet descriptor or policy record.
    • Record serialized tamper-evident bag numbers; the bags indicate opening attempts but do not prevent access.
    • Document the quorum, coordinator, derivation paths, device fingerprints, and recovery procedure for heirs.
    • Update descriptor copies after any intentional signer replacement or policy change.
