Description
The Bitaxe Replacement OLED Screen is a compact 0.91-inch, 128 × 32 SSD1306 display for compatible open-source Bitaxe Bitcoin miners. It restores the local status display on OLED-equipped Bitaxe Max, Ultra, Supra, Gamma, and standard-display GT revisions without changing mining performance or firmware settings.

Compatible Bitaxe Miners
| Miner family | Compatibility guidance |
|---|---|
| Bitaxe Max 100 series | Compatible with OLED-equipped Max boards that use the standard 0.91-inch SSD1306 module and matching 4-pin order. |
| Bitaxe Ultra 200 series | Compatible with OLED-equipped Ultra boards that use the standard SSD1306 display interface. |
| Bitaxe Supra 400 series | Compatible with standard OLED-equipped Supra revisions. |
| Bitaxe Gamma 600 series | Compatible with standard Gamma 601 and 602 OLED configurations. |
| Bitaxe GT 800 series | Compatible only with standard OLED-equipped GT revisions using this 0.91-inch module. It is not the GT Touch display. |
Bitaxe is an open-source hardware family with multiple revisions and builder configurations. Model family alone is not enough to prove fit. Before ordering, confirm that the installed display is a 0.91-inch 128 × 32 SSD1306 I2C module and that the board header uses the same GND, VCC, SCL, and SDA order.
Miners That Use a Different Screen
| Miner | Why this OLED does not fit |
|---|---|
| Bitaxe GT Touch | Uses a separate touch-display system rather than the standard 0.91-inch OLED. |
| Bitaxe Naja Duo | Uses a larger color LCD system with different hardware and mounting. |
| Nerdaxe Gamma | Uses a LILYGO T-Display S3 color display board rather than this OLED module. |
| NerdQaxe+ and NerdQaxe++ | Use a different display board and interface. Select the correct replacement for the exact miner revision. |
| Bitaxe Gamma Hex and other multi-chip designs | Display hardware can vary by design and builder. No drop-in compatibility is claimed without confirming the exact board and header. |
Check These Items Before Replacing the Screen
A blank display does not always mean the OLED has failed. Test the simple causes first:
- Open the miner web interface from another device and confirm the miner is powered, connected, and hashing.
- Check whether the display timeout or screen-saver setting has turned the OLED off. Wake it or temporarily change the setting.
- Shut down the miner and disconnect power. Never reseat the display while the board is energized.
- Inspect the module for a loose connection, bent pins, corrosion, cracked glass, or damage around the header.
- Reseat the original screen evenly, reconnect power, and retest before concluding that it needs replacement.
How to Install the Replacement OLED
- Shut down the miner, disconnect its power supply, and wait for the board to cool.
- Photograph the original screen orientation and pin labels before removing it.
- Support the miner board and lift the old module straight off the header. Do not twist the screen or flex the main PCB.
- Compare the GND, VCC, SCL, and SDA markings on the replacement with the board header. Never assume all 4-pin modules share the same order.
- Align all four pins, then press the module down evenly. Do not force a bent or offset pin.
- Reconnect power and allow the miner to boot. The OLED should show the status screen after firmware initialization.
- If the screen remains blank, disconnect power and reseat it. Then verify the display settings and firmware before further disassembly.
What the Bitaxe OLED Displays
The exact screen rotation depends on AxeOS and the miner firmware version. Common pages can include hashrate, ASIC temperature, power or efficiency data, network status, uptime, pool information, best difficulty, and share activity. Replacing the screen restores local visibility only. It does not increase hashrate, change clock settings, or repair an unrelated power, network, firmware, or ASIC fault.
